In recent years, doctors have found that there is a distinct relationship between your dental health and overall health. One of the easiest steps you can take toward a healthy mouth and body is establishing an ongoing relationship with an experienced, trusted dental health care provider.
Our cosmetic dental team exercises a truly comprehensive approach to dental care, providing preventive, general, restorative and cosmetic services to Hellam & York patients. Daily flossing and brushing are essential to maintaining oral health, but regular checkups with a dentist are equally important. Our dentists can detect any potential complications in their earliest stages, helping to ensure your oral health for many years to come.
At the Center for Dental Excellence, our team is committed to helping each of our patients achieve optimal oral health and a beautiful smile in a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. To learn more about our available services or schedule an appointment, reach out to us using our online contact form.
Preventative and General Care
Maintaining excellent oral health begins with regularly scheduled dental cleanings. Our practice offers a broad range of preventive and general dentistry services, including sealants, non-surgical periodontal therapy (treatment of the tooth below the gum line), and root canals.
Neck and Oral Cancer Screening
As part of every check-up and dental cleaning, our patients over the age of 13 undergo a neck and oral cancer screening using a VELscope. This revolutionary technology allows for quick and easy screening of oral abnormalities, using a blue-spectrum light to highlight unhealthy tissue. When necessary, we use digital x-ray technology to quickly and efficiently detect trouble areas that may not be visible to the naked eye.
TMJ Diagnosis and Treatment in Hellam
Teeth grinding, or bruxism, is one of the most common conditions affecting our patients. If you wake with a sore or stiff jaw, suffer from unexplained headaches, or have tightness in the face, neck or shoulders, you may suffer from a temporomandibular joint disorder. This condition is often exacerbated by stress, and can take a tremendous toll on your teeth.
We offer a range of treatments for TMJ disorder, including facial massage, myofascial therapy, and working with a reflexologist. More complex cases of TMJ can be treated using custom mouth guards, worn at night to prevent teeth grinding.
